Timeo - Baroque Party
Client: Grand Hotel Timeo - Taormina
Why: The exclusive Grand Hotel Timeo, in Taormina, an elegant 19th century residence inherited from the grand Sicilian nobility, requested Azimut’s services to create a special event for their usual midsummer gala dinner, especially made for their highly demanding, international clientele.

What: We had previously worked together with the grand hotel Timeo, so we already knew that their patrons are accustomed to the highest standards under every point of view.
We needed something intrinsically elegant and classy, with a strong Italian flavor, highly emotional, and that would fit in the chosen venue and setting…
Our Baroque Party seemed to be the perfect choice, and the hotel’s management agreed!
How: The Grand Hotel Timeo, located opposite the Greek Amphitheatre and overlooking the extraordinary spectacle of Mount Etna, has one of the most enthralling terrace we have ever seen, so this was the chosen location for the dinner.
Together with the hotel manager and the food&beverage manager, we planned the whole event and put it to life in a month of really hard work and rehearsals.
Finally, the show began!
The patrons entered the prestigious literary terrace, welcomed by costumed valets who offered the ladies hand-carved fans, while baroque characters walked around the terrace in a suggestive living set design.
During dinner, a live string quartet enchanted the guests, and, between courses, six different shows followed one after the other.
The Baroque Party was thought to really be a surrounding experience, so we provided not one, but two different stages, and the artists exhibited alternatively on both of them, and also between the gala tables, so transforming the guests themselves in a part of the show.
A live opera singer, baroque dances, fire jugglers and more really astonished the patrons, in anticipation of the grand finale: spotlights enlightened the ancient roof, revealing a trapeze hidden over the guests’ heads.
A trapeze artists revealed and performed 10 meters high in the sky, and finally all the artists showed on the roof, to take their deserved, thunderous applause.
