Client: Baader2 Kommunikationdesign for TUI
Why: The main aim of the client was to have a really big closer for an already gorgeous big event that involved 1.800 pax divided in 6 groups in a period of 15 days!
When: May, 2007
Where: hotel “Capo dei Greci”***** - Taormina
What: To accomplish the chosen goal, we do needed something that was tightly bond to Sicily, highly emotional, and that would fit in the chosen venue and setting…
Moreover, it had to blend with everything previously scheduled and arranged by Baader2!
A Fire-show was the obvious choice, symbolizing not merely the fire of mount Aetna, or the summer heat of that summer days, but, most of all, the flaming passion that burns inside every and each person of this land. We also added an opera singer to sing some classic, especially arranged Italian music, and to close with a touching version of the famous “Nessun dorma”, from the celebrated Puccini’s opera “Turandot”.
How: Almost everybody has seen a fire-show, and we knew the people in this cunning group were no exception! Nevertheless, fire has an intrinsic magical, enthralling flavor, being at the same time nostalgic, evocative and energizing.
Moreover, it is also true that everybody has listened to a singer, but no two singers are the same: the same is true for every kind of artist, and we knew that our fire-artists are really of outstanding quality!
Our first step was to have multiple site-inspection to dramatically observe every detail that could be useful or harmful to the show: the chosen location was a terrace with an enthralling view of the Jonian sea, placed in a breathtaking sea inlet. We took a lot of photos, to be used in the subsequent creative phase in our offices.
A complete plan (including a detailed timeline and some pencil sketches) was done to illustrate and clarify the above key scenes and the emotional effect we wanted to achieve, and then we began some really tough rehearsals.
Finally, the day arrived, and we were ready for an amazing show.
Let the photos speak for us!
